I'm hanging out in Seoul and meet a kid from Spain teaching Spanish. He knows little English but knows French so we communicate with broken English and French. And we are in Korea! Wow, fun eye opening experience.

Noted...I did sign up for the health club today! A 3 month gym membership with a discount of 20,000 won...I'd like to say I played my adjumma card correctly as I had asked about any specials...aka discounts. Wink.

So I watched a reality TV show and a guy saying he really had to spit while inside the NY metro station. So he did like over the edge of the platform. Then three policemen rushed to him to give him a $100 dollar fine.

....if only the NYPD could stay 5 minutes in the Seoul metro. They'd have plenty of tickets to write off. It's like I expect an ajashi (old man) to spit at least once before I get on the subway...and they do it ON the platform. I miss clean America. Ha. Trust me...it's clean.


Check it. I'm watching the BCS game live! It'll be 10 am on Friday here! I'm heading to Seoul to watch it and convinced Em to come with. The USO has a 62" screen!

So how much is 800?

Relatively speaking $800 is a lot of money. Then when you realize it's a round trip ticket to the home of warmth and sunshine and lovely people and Tijuana Flats it's actually quite cheap.

But money's money and it don't grow on trees. So I'm speaking out of my week long hatred of Korea. After my English session with a 9 year old girl who made me laugh I walked home in the cold in my long duck down coat that I got for the equivalent of 12 US dollars aka 15,000 won.

But my hatred started a lil over a week ago when I got super sick. I got a shot from a Korean hospital. She told me to pull down my pants and didn't know how far...so while standing up I was like, ugh, unzip my jeans? The nurse practically saw my whole bum and turns out the shot was like my hip on one side so having her see the whole moon was probably an eye rolling experience for her...I can hear her mind right now..."dumb foreigner." The shot which happens to be a common thing for the nation of work horses was good for the first day. But the next day I took a sick day because I ached in bed. Every time I got up to pee or eat (sounds gross putting those next to each other so closely in text) my body ached and wished I weren't standing.


So that was the first of my hatred....then it escalated as I continued to smell nastyness on the subways and annoyance with the Korean words buzzed all about me and waiting on the bus for 15 minutes or more at a time with killer wind peeling off the nerves of my face making me fester in bitterness all the more. And my school told me to turn off the heater in my office...

But slowly I did things like, play pickup at Yeouinaru with people I haven't seen in a while. OH! I spent Christmas at my Aunt Donna and Uncle Ken's on base in Seoul. That was spectacular. Two of my girlfriends got to come. And then I stayed there again for New Year's. It was awesome.

But today I smiled as I walked home and stopped at the the GS-25 (convenient store) to get Emily a surprise ice cream bar. I like to surprise her with ice cream. We have fun exchanging the ice cream joy...even in freezing weather.

Taipei was really cool about having landscaping around the town....very unlike Korea. It was also nice to have weather similar to Florida and see palm trees. =D

Suh-bi-suh

English accent that means "service." That's what was whispered to my ear at Dos Tacos as Mallory, Emily and I were recognized for our coolness while the server had just placed an "on the house" plate of chili cheese fries. We spotted our picture again on the wall. I actually ate a burrito and it was MASHEETDA! (delicious)

I can't speak Korean but I could tell the server said I looked pretty bc I actually wore make-up this time...Koreans are really fond of speaking up when you wear make-up.

Pickup was fun today even though it was about freezing temperature. Was a bit outta shape for the first 30 min and thought "how in the world am I going to make it in the Taipei tourney next weekend????" But then as I played I remembered that my body is good at endurance...it usually takes me 2 hours to warm up to be really good as I observed during our 3 hour pickup games at Florida.

And tonight it snowed...like for real. Like for more than an hour. It's cold when it hits your face...teehee...I don't like that.

It snowed a lot today...but it was not sticking to the ground. Was nice to see through the 3rd floor window. I just heard a song called "Elvis ain't dead." Sounds like a decent band. I'll look them up.

Snow flurries!!!

So complaining about the cold was swiped away from my prefrontal cortex as I waited for my bus after school. I saw furry white things blowing near my head and hoped it wasn't ashes...like I'll see in Florida. Then I thought maybe that a kid who lived in one of the high apts near the bus stop had some white fluffy things they threw out the window. After about 7 minutes I saw another gust of white stuff and scrupulously watched one fall to the ground and disappear super fast! Then I looked at my black coat and saw one up close in a crazy formation that was undeniably a snow flurry-flake! I looked over my shoulder and saw a whole array of those little flurries all about! I had a huge grin as my bus came towards me. How wonderful! Then I texted like 5 people of my discovery.
