Snow flurries!!!
So complaining about the cold was swiped away from my prefrontal cortex as I waited for my bus after school. I saw furry white things blowing near my head and hoped it wasn't ashes...like I'll see in Florida. Then I thought maybe that a kid who lived in one of the high apts near the bus stop had some white fluffy things they threw out the window. After about 7 minutes I saw another gust of white stuff and scrupulously watched one fall to the ground and disappear super fast! Then I looked at my black coat and saw one up close in a crazy formation that was undeniably a snow flurry-flake! I looked over my shoulder and saw a whole array of those little flurries all about! I had a huge grin as my bus came towards me. How wonderful! Then I texted like 5 people of my discovery.

Florida weather is frozen out of my memory.
Still in the 80's in Florida my dad says...so weather.com says that it's about 30 degrees here but it feels like 22. Nice...in Celsius Florida is 27 degrees and here it's about -1/-4. Where's my swimsuit and sun?
It's only thick coats, duck down jackets and scarfs/mittens for the next few months. Aaagh...it's not even official winter yet! *Crying* heeeeeeelp meeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!! It's only bad when I have to wait for the bus...otherwise...wait, I take that back. It's bad when I freeze in my office...but other than that my home is comfortable.

jampacked recap of last month
Here's a delightful card written in Korean English...a couple of you had this mailed home to you.
This is my stash of goodies I got when I felt a bit homesick. Went to a nearby store called E-mart and got stationary and stickers and pens! Send me your address if you want one!
During a talent festival in October. These are the Kindergartners...so cute! Wish I had them on video. Currently working on uploading some other talent videos on facebook.
Here's a close up of the little cuties!
This isn't the Tae Kwon Do folks but it's something like it. They did flips, too! Reminded me of my short lived gymnastic days...and that one time I did backhandsprings...on my mattress.
I found a template to make bags that the students could decorate with Halloween pictures. I made a demo. One class had a group that used my exact layout. They were glued to the board when my bag was on display and drew theirs like it. I felt so honored.
So in American advertisement women are used for their appeal in picture ads. In Korea they are used in person. The special occasion? It was a bbq buffet restaurant...was it new or just a special discount? I dunno but we ended up eating there. It was safe...a lot of males but a couple families with kids so it was okay.
Emily a bit exhausted from our full day of work and having visited Mallory (pictured above) at her airport island. Now back home on the expensive subway.
Some $4 food midway through a hat tournament in Daejeon. It was right by our motel room.
Daejeon Hat tourney. Erin is gorgeous and it was fun to meet experienced girls. Her and Turbo (another bad A ulti) both live in Daejeon so I rarely get to play with them.
This is the most adorable little baby boy. His dad got a picture of us cracking up because he was eating a cracker and dropped in way in his shirt and whenever I tried to grab it the cracker would further sink but we finally got it so he could finish snacking.
My friends, Eupil and Linda, visited me. Eupil got a couple funny shots. I'm excited to play but I'm not focused on running fast on the D cuz this is our consulation game during finals at Fall League. We won this one! I helped by catching 6 out of 9 points in the end zone.
So too bad this is before the D but it was an easy hammer coming straignt towards me as I was positioned in front of her...so anyone who can read the disc a little woulda done the same. But it felt good to hit the disc outta bounds!

Mallory, Emily and I are on the wall in Hongdae at Dos Tacos. The workers loved us while we sang to Big Bang and danced during dinner. One worker had a cool polaroid but it took 2X3 photos. He took two pics...one for us to keep. Look for us on their bulletin board.

I miss Dragonfly's apricot sauce with their wontons, the beach, being poolside, tanning oil, my bible study ladies, sand volleyball, the Gators, wearing orange and blue in The Swamp, and Monday night ultimate pickup on Flavet.
Last night my sickness was so bad that I was crying cold in bed with my blanket and sleeping bag. I cried because of the pain...like my whole body was aching. My co-teacher could tell I wasn't well even though I tried to play off that I could help teach the other classes. She made me go sleep in the nurse's office. Best sleep ever! She has two beds in there and there was a nice heated mat on top of the mattress. I slept so well.
It's Pepero Day! So the pretzel sticks covered in chocolate were passed out. I didn't see any kids do it but I gave some to my Principal, Vice-principal, office staff and 4 co-teachers. Pepero is so fun! I used to eat them when I was a little kid...dunno if it was Korea or Germany but that was one thing that I was happy to have when I got to Korea. HAPPY PEPERO DAY!

Old school!
Min-Jeong needed to use up the last 6 pictures on her Polaroid film so us English teachers did our best...we work hard. So why not take a break with snapping ourselves with peace signs? Sounds Korean enough for me!
On the left is my main co-teacher and the 6th grade English teacher, Ji-young. The middle is Min-Jeong and she teaches 3rd grade. MJ is cute and is also the art teacher. (In case anyone thinks I'm gaining weight here...being the smallest I was strategically placed "in front".) I love my co-teachers.
Ji-young again. She's super hard working and reads a lot. Smart girl. And Song-yi teaches the 5th graders. She's really stylish and hip. The only non-pictured co-teacher is Bo-Hee for 4th grade. She also is really nice and wants to exchange our language knowledge during free periods.
Actually it's a new school called Gulpo but the pictures are taken old school. And by the date you can tell that I'm really good at updating my blog with the most recent of events...I still have videos to upload on facebook from my school's student festival. That was two Fridays ago.
